Erepa Grotto Pipes and Drums

September 2011

August is coming to a close and the boys are enjoying the well deserved break after the parade season.  The highlight of the month was definitely the Zem Zem Shrine Legion of Honor Commander's Ball.  Commander Tom Kalinowski and his Lady Jane were dressed to impress.  The band led in the opening ceremonies with flying colors.  With 9 pipers and 7 drummers, the band delivered quite the loud sound to lead in the Commander.  Commander Kalinowski even joined the band to play a few sets before taking his place back at the head table.

With the Commander's Ball being the only event of the month, the pipers have been working on new music for the Tartan Ball.  That's right the ball is still six months away, but with this year being the anniversary the guys have been plugging away at new tunes to really wow the crowd come next March.

September should be nice and relaxing.  The band is scheduled to play at the 90th Annual Spartansburg Community Fair and then will have some free time to enjoy the cooler weather and rake the leaves before the snow comes.
